Strabismus

Strabismus is defined as a condition in which the eyes are not properly aligned. This could be due to the ocular muscles not functioning as well as they should or a cranial nerve disease. Thyroid disease, myasthenia gravis or orbital fractures could also be a result. This could be a unilateral or bilateral problem. The eyes can present with a turn in, out, up, down or irregular. This condition is diagnosed usually during early childhood. This condition can not be prevented, but can be corrected with early intervention.

  • Dr. Lauren is fantastic! She's a great person all around. She did a great job with my son's eye exam. I'm so thankful to have her in our community and become our family's optometrist!
