Amblyopia

Amblyopia is a loss or lack of development of the vision to one eye. The process usually begins early in life during infancy. The most common name for this condition is “Lazy Eye”. The connections from the brain and eye may have a weaker signal than the dominant eye. There are three forms:

• Refractive: Precription
• Strabismus: Eye muscles not working correctly
• Derivative: i.e. drooping of the lid, cataract, etc.

We highly recommend all children have a comprehensive eye examination by the age of three.

  • Dr. Lauren is fantastic! She's a great person all around. She did a great job with my son's eye exam. I'm so thankful to have her in our community and become our family's optometrist!
